Don't be an ass. This is not a victory for sophistication, it's a victory lap for Rock of Ages; a little show that could, targeted to the audiences that Broadway usually repels.
Yep, 2nd Stage owns the Helen Hayes. From what I understand they were waiting for ROA to leave and then planned a renovation (which it desperately needs) and then have their own shows there. Wonder which of the recent past shows at 2nd Stage could be a hit on Broadway.....Dogfight perhaps?

Agreed. I didn't really like this show, but it found an audience that adored it and had a great time.

This show was a lot of fun, not my favorite by a long shot, but when you ain't looking for nothing, but a good time, how can you resist? It don't get better than this...
Is Second Stage going to leave it as a Broadway house or do they need for some reason to take out seats and make it off-Broadway? (I thought I read someplace they had to make it an off-Broadway house.)
I think its first tenant will be American Psycho-which is slated for a fall 2015 opening from what I understand. (I'm guessing they're going to renovate that theater.)
I assumed it would be a Broadway house since the have an off-Broadway one a couple of blocks away. Why would they make it something other than Broadway?
I thought it had to do with the status of the company or some such thing.
There was also some mention made of the mission of Second Stage and that they didn't want to be commercial (I thought taxes were involved somehow as well). Updated On: 11/18/14 at 11:55 AM
Yes, from what I was told major renovation. All I know is Second Stage was very eager to get it empty. As for tax purposes they are collecting rent on a Broadway house right now, right? What's the difference?
