I thought this show was really great. I would be grateful if people would post reviews. I thought it was so good, I predict it will be one of the finalists for the Pulitzer.
I have nothing what so ever to do with this show other than I am a big fan. I went again to see this show and it was better the second time around. The theatre was half empty. I just wanted to bump this up one more time. I'd love to hear some other opinions. I stopped paying attention to the NY Times Critic picks when they picked Bayside the Musical as a Critics Pick, but this show deserves a bigger audience. It' difficult to watch, it's heartbreaking, by the end you are a little stunned, but it's theatre that makes you FEEL SOMETHING. It's just that it might be unpleasant for most people to sit through. If you are an adult, you should be able to handle the content, and ultimately, it has an important message. It's brave theatre. It takes a subject that gets pushed under the rug and puts it on stage. It's not perfect, but it's a great production of a really good play. And some wonderful performances.
I've read the original journalism article and listened to the This American Life episode. Very intrigued by this production! I need to grab a ticket fast.
