No Lady Day rush today

I got to Circle In the Square early today, and there was a sign on the door saying no rush today. Bummer! Just wanted to warn anyone else with similar plans!

Do they sell standing room at this theater? I imagine it's an easy show to stand through; it's pretty short.

They sure do. And someone else posted the Standing Room provides an excellent view.

^^^^ A good way to go, then! And cost-effective too. I helped a friend navigate the TKTS booth the other day, and his half-price ticket to Lady Day came to $89.

The problem with SRO is that this show is almost never 100% sold out. I went a few times, and a few hours to show time, they said it was too close to tell but it might happen, and then a few minutes to showtime, they would always say it wasn't going to make it. And I exclusively went on multiple Friday and Saturday nights to try and increase my chances.

So, while everything you say is right about this being an easy show to stand through, getting that standing ticket will not be as easy, since the show is always like 98% sold out.

This last Friday, I did luck out, and the person in front of me at the box office had an extra seat she wanted to sell back, in the front row, center aisle, of the rear orchestra (basically the best non-premium table seat facing the stage), and they of course didn't buy it back. I asked about SRO, he said no, so I figured it was worth a shot, so I went to the lady on her way to the ticket scanner, and offered her $40 for her $137 ticket, and she was very happy to get anything back, so she took it.

But that is how I finally saw the show after repeated SRO attempts. I imagine SRO will become more available in the last few weeks of the run, as all the procrastinators finally lock in and sell it out every night, which seems to happen at every amazing show.
