Feeding the beast a little bit, but, here's the latest round of Tony predictions...this time from The Hollywood Reporter. Very similar to what many on here have been saying. THR
Wow! I had heard Beautiful was good but I underestimated it's Tony chances. Looks like Best Musical could be a toss-up! Love how some of this year's Tony categories are unpredictable!
I hope Beautiful wins. I listened to the cast recording of Gentleman's Guide, and I just don't really care for it... maybe it's one of those scores that is better live?

They're wrong about Featured Actress in a Play. The voters haven't forgotten about Celia. It also shows how uninformed they are about the Tonys, because Tracy Letts won for a closed play last year.
How can you ever decide on the value of ANY show strictly from listening to the cd?
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Lisa Emory, even though her role is small in Casa Valentina, will not be amused to read that they wrote that Mare Winningham is the only female character in the show.
"How can you ever decide on the value of ANY show strictly from listening to the cd?"
I am not judging the entire value of the show from the CD, strictly the score itself. If I don't care for the score, I am not going to personally be rooting for it to win best musical.

I wonder about Featured Actress in a Musical. Hard to say since Worsham and Larsen tied for the Drama Desk and Hall was not even nominated. Still, I think I think Lena's performance is extraordinary and I'd love to see her win. I think it's either her or Anika Larsen, Anika's a hard-working gal with a lot of love in the industry, I think there are people who would love to see her win, especially after her near-death-experience trying to put up the show. What a great story that would be.

This is just silly. So you're going to 'root' for one of the other shows that have borrowed scores? Regardless, in my opinion, you need to see the show first before you actively root against it.
I'll be surprised if Brown doesn't sweep in for his score. Featured Actress/Play is a real jump ball. But I agree with those who've said that Keenan-Bolger is not forgotten.
EW hits the mark for me. I'm shocked that neither of THR critics think that Celia Keenan-Bolger will take Featured Actress. I also can't get behind any list that doesn't predict BRIDGES for score!
