My sister is a huge fan of the movie Heathers. What are the chances that it will still be running when she visits in late July? I see that it's on sale until January but we all know that doesn't mean anything. Thoughts?
I have to disagree with Jordan on this one, I think the show is very well done, and very enjoyable. It's a bit more lighthearted than the movie, but I personally thought it was great. I know several other people too who are bigs fans of the movie and also really enjoyed the musical.
the show is hardly crap. it has one of the best "pop" songs in a show of the past few years, SEVENTEEN the cast have terrific voices--and they are attractive as well. the memorable/quotable lines are all there to enjoy and savor if you want the show to be there in july--help it out by buying tix NOW--and pay full price. (Should the show close before then, you get the refund anyway.)
I also would have to disagree with Jordan. I thought the show was one of the best things I've seen this season! The music is brilliant, and really catchy. The cast, especially Barrett Wilbert Weed, is amazing! I thought it was a million times better than the movie.
Oh great….another show Jordan will leap at the chance to rant and rave about how much he hated it at every available opportunity.

Well, he pines for Rocky and Rocky...sucks. I loved Heathers. The music is indeed fantastic, and the lead has a really unique voice that I was captivated by.
I think the actual production needs some work and the pacing/directing, but it's an enjoyable evening.
Well, calling the show crap might be a bit harsh, but Jordan does have a point. As an adaption of the movie it is terrible, but it seems to work as a fluff, peppy, fun show. There are many positive things, the cast is quite good, as is the music, choreography and staging is really good in places. I, personally couldn't enjoy it a lot, because after changing a lot of the main characters personalities, the story just didn't make much sense anymore and seemed completely pointless. I walked out feeling that the creators simply didn't understand the movie at all.
If you take your sister tell her to not watch the movie again until after the show and not to expect too much Updated On: 5/14/14 at 01:09 PM
Cannot believe I am agreeing with Jordan. He apparently hated Heathers and loved Rocky. Same here. Heathers was sophmoric at best. I would rather have root canal without anaesthesia than sit thru Heathers again.Heather looks and sounds like it was put together by a group of prepubescent teenagers with nothing better to do.
I loved the movie, and I saw the musical last Sunday. In a word, I thought it was awful. The lyrics and the music were bland, generic and completely forgettable. The direction and choreography were amateurish and while the cast tried very hard, no one rose above this mess of a show.
I did correct it. I have to be careful with the kindle. It has this quirk in it and sometimes the feature to edit and correct does not work on either the kindle or the computer.

I don't know if you guys know this, but not every thread on this board has to turn into a discussion on whether or not a show is good. There are threads for this, and you are welcome to revive them at any time if you wish. As for the topic of the thread, I would say that Heathers will probably close in early September, but will make it to January at the latest. I do hope it recoups it relatively small budget in that time though.
