I will be in New York in October, for my birthday I will be seeing a few shows, and what would you recommend?

Hard to make a blanket statement -- we don't know what you have seen, or what you like, or what you dislike, yet alone YOU. Do you like plays? Musicals? Then of course, it's tough to know what will still be open in October.

If you tell us more about the shows you've loved and hated, we can be more helpful.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I have seen Phantom, Wicked, Jersey Boys, Newsies, I like plays and musicals, I saw Les Miserables right before it closed on Broadway for the first time

But did you LIKE or HATE those shows? What are you interested in? You aren't making it easy to help you.
