Couldn't find a thread about this, but I just saw about three different commercials in a row on television that featured Broadway stars. Thought it might be fun to see how many people have seen Broadway stars on their television screen in commercials. It has become a trend of late for many of these actors to appear in the national spots.
The ones that immediately come to my mind:
- Daniel Breaker (All State, Hot Pockets) - Jim Naughton (voiceover for Jaguar) - Brian D'Arcy James (voiceover for Aleve) - Norm Lewis (Cialis)
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
In fact there was a series of those "singing" eBay commercials. Does anyone know the total number of spots, and who was in them?
Christian Borle sang a parody of "That's Amore." Danny Rutigliano did "My Way." Jessica Molaskey did "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?" (this is the only one I can find on YouTube) but I bet there were others.
Long ago, Rebecca Luker talked about how her "really pounding headaches" were relieved by Aleve.
Judy Kaye did at least three: Radisson Inn, Glade (she was a fraternity housemother), and one other I can't remember. All were at least a decade ago.
Sebastian Arcelus is in that Visa or Mastercard commercial with the babysitter where they add more to her pay electronically after seeing the arts and crafts she did with the daughter.
Norbert Leo Butz did an orange juice commercial several years back.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

In the late 1990s, Carol Burnett and Whoopi Goldberg shilled Entemann's Baked Goods
Mandy Patinkin did Crestor

Santino Fontana does a bunch of voiceovers, Macy's, Excedrin, and most recently CoverGirl. And Laura Osnes has done some McDonalds voiceovers, but I think only for radio.
A favorite actress of mine, Carloyn McCormick, was the Nicoderm CQ spokesperson in commercials. She also did voice-over work for Crestor and Listerine.
Judith LIght used to do a Humira commercial..and of course, she was on the infomercial for Proactive for many years. Her hubby Robert Deserderio is well known voice over artist as well.
(And the Sebastian commerical is for Chase, not MC or VISA. It's a bad sign for a commercial when it's so entertaining, you forget what product they advertise..LOL I rarely remember the product in a really "good" commerical..I just happened to remember this one.)
