I went to this show bc I remember liking Tupac's music. While rap isn't really my thing, Tupac's music had a melody and I think that's why I liked it. My main issue with this show is that it needs more focus. The background music was so loud it was competing with the singers/ rappers instead of highlighting them. I could barely hear the lyrics and whenever I couldn't my mind wandered and I got bored.
While I liked the ensemble, sometimes too many people on stage all doing different things made it hard to visually focus. Maybe highlighting w/ spotlights could help? The second act got better story-wise. I found myself paying closer attention and actually liking it better than the first half. I'm glad I stuck it out and hope that this show can correct some of the distractions. It'll better hold the audience's attention and relay the storyline better. It has the potential to reach a new audience because of the music and I hope it succeeds as I think it has a good message.
