Hi Friends..coming for a long weekend from 7th Feb and I've booked for Little Me concert and Madama Butterfly at the Met so I have 3 more shows to fill. What would you suggest? I have to admit there is nothing that jumps out as I've seen all the long runs and the British transfers..guess I could see Chicago for the 27th time! I'm happy to go back to an old favourite if there has been an amazing cast change. Any play or musical on or off Broadway I'll consider if any one says it's worth seeing. Thanks in advance for your help x

You're NUTS to go back and see CHICAGO, when you can see any of t he below great pieces of stage work:

Broadway:
- TWELFE NIGHT
- THE GLASS MENAGERIE
- AFTER MIDNIGHT
- PIPPIN

Off-Broadway:
- BUYER & CELLAR
- MURDER FOR TWO

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Thanks..you guys are quick and right..Pippin and Glass Menagerie fills two shows...was a bit scared of Glass as it broke my heart when I worked on a production of it many many years ago here in Scotland.

I'm coming back the same weekend just to see Glass one last time. It really is so well done.I've heard some good buzz for Dinner with Friends, so I added that to my list. If After Midnight wasn't so stingy with discount codes, it would also be on my list already. I agree with you though, not a lot of "must see" things demanding one's attention for that weekend.

Matilda is a must see! Much better than Pippin IMO. But yes, Glass Menagerie is brilliant as well.

I thought both Pippin and Menagerie were absolutely wonderful; I hope you enjoy them, too!

As for another spot:
12 Night
The Realistic Joneses (I would never pass a chance to see Mr. Letts on stage!)
Velocity of Autumn

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

" If After Midnight wasn't so stingy with discount codes, it would also be on my list already."

This show nearly always has discount codes (perhaps not during the holidays). I went with one last week, so not sure where you're looking, but this is untrue. Here's a link below, and there is a new code for all but the last week of KD's run.
After Midnight discount

Now t/d/b/a haterobics on here.

I didn't have a chance to see it but people I chatted with at intermission more than once highly recommended "A Gentleman's Guide To Love And Murder". What I did see I'd definitely recommend was "Matilda", "Pippin" and "Cinderella" (in that order).
