So ever since Valisia took her FIRST leave from Motown Felicia was brought in and she was GREAT!!!! GREAT GREAT GREAT!!! Now they are letting her go>??????????? Anyone know why????
I don't know that Felicia Boswell is being let go, but I do know that (the fabulous) Krystal Joy Brown is coming in to replace her. Her first performance is January 23rd.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
Well i know that Felicia was broguht in to replace Valisia during her FIRST leave of "absence" for "vacation" and then let go long before her first "cancer" scare.... And then the producer hired Krystal and didn't even tell Felicia. I like Krystal too but Felicia was wronged! And motown aint right at all....
troynow, it's my understanding that Felicia was always supposed to finish her run at the end of January because Valisia was scheduled to return to the show at that time until her illness was discovered. Your use of the phrases "let go" and "released" implies that they're firing Felicia. In reality, her contract is ending at its regularly scheduled time and the producers are simply choosing not to renew it.
Could they have extended Felicia now that Valisia isn't returning and a permanent replacement is necessary? Of course. But it's not as if she was supposed to continue on in the show and they're letting her go, which is what you're continuously and inaccurately suggesting.

Not everything that happens in the world is a conspiracy.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I'd guess and say the offered Boswell an extension but she has something else lined-up. Or it could be she'll be heading into the tour, as well.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
nope. not at all....I wish Valisia well.... however her cancer was not a factor in the producers letting her go. and placing her on a forced leave of absence because she wouldn't wear the auto tune mic as requested to correct her pitch.... she had been let go from Motown long before the cancer strike.
I know first hand the cancer is ture that isn't my question. When a good actor takes a role with an amazing voice like Felichia. Who sweeps in learns a show in two weeks and is wonderful then you bring her back a second time and once the role is "offically" open you DONT sign her???? WHY???? WHY THE HELL NOT???? Then to let her find out via Facebook that she is not being renewed after she literally and i do mean literally saved Motown beause there was no one the Producers wanted!!! Felicia was and IS amazing. I adore Krystal Joy but it just wasnt right. And to answer the tour question. Felichia will not be on the tour.
troynow--I find the tone of your remarks about Valisia to be contemptible.
You really ought to be ashamed of yourself.
I only wish for you that when you or some loved one is stricken with cancer, no one comes onto an anonymous chat board and leaves unfounded and irrelevant comments, the way you have done.
The woman is going through treatment for cancer. Have some respect.
