i didnt see it the first time around but there are a couple updated reference's and I believe the projections have been updated due to the technological advancements
Going tonight. Can't wait. I'm never sure why Telecharge screws up and offers me a great regular priced seat in a sea of premiums, but I'm glad when they do.
I really, really liked this last night. One of my favorites of the Broadway season so far. You can tell that Crystal genuinely loves performing this material.
The bit about the Long Beach basketball team was SO funny. I could not stop laughing.
I don't want to get into the specific stories and jokes because that will only spoil punchlines.
One person shows have the potential to be major drags, but this one is a delight. Don't miss it!
Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco.
Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!
I literally laughed out loud the entire time! I don't want to give anything away. But there are moments where you might need a Kleenex. Just warning you now?? I highly recommend this show. And agree its one of the best so far of the season. If not the best non musical.
I wasn't planning on seeing this, but you guys are changing my mind! Maybe it will extend? For now, there are only 54 performances. I know Crystal has said he intends to retire the show after this stint.
There were some empty seats in the back of the rear mezz, so you should still be able to snag a ticket to this, unless it was just the first preview that wasn't sold out. If this is really the "farewell tour" then I would suggest making the effort to go.

Yeah, that was an amazing night. What a phenomenal performer. I'd say go early if you're on the fence and haven't booked yet, since word of mouth is going to fill those seats quickly.
I did notice that the posters did NOT say 54 performances, only limited engagement, so you never know...
Also, keep watching Telecharge, I got a third row, orchestra aisle seat, surrounded by premium seats for regular price (not cheap, but not $275), and for tonight, there was one front row seat for regular price, so there is some opportunity here for an amazing upgrade.

A few weeks ago I grabbed two front row mezz, close to center, seats for Opening Night, November 13th. Nothing else showed except a handful at the back extreme sides.
p.s. I would appreciate someone finding me admission to the Opening Night afterparty.
pps: Is there any chance of Billy Crystal autographs? I have a set of Closing Night givaway chopsticks from June 12, 2005. (I wouldn't bring them to the party!)
Saw this tonight, after waiting nearly ten years to see it live!! I missed it in 2004 and made sure to snag a ticket this time around, and boy was it worth the wait. It ranks as one of the funniest, warmest, most genuinely moving, and all-around enjoyable stage productions I've seen in a long time. It's by far the best one person show I've ever seen (that I can recall).
The first act is much more comedy-oriented than the second, but Crystal nails both the humor (no surprise there) and the gentler, quieter moments with such ease that it's almost overwhelming. I could barely catch my breath from one laugh before he had me cracking up at another joke. And I choked back lots of tears during the second half, which is so touching and beautiful. I thought the standing ovation during the curtain call would never end!
I really don't know what to say about the show other than see it, see it, see it. It's one of the best things playing in New York right now and I can't think of a single person (well, maybe After Eight) who wouldn't have a completely fantastic time at it. It's the first must see of the season for me. I really, really hope they consider taping it for HBO.
The show got out around 9:40 tonight, and (even if it feels like it 'ends' multiple times) I would've watched the show all night. I didn't want it to end! I was up in the $68 seats (Row D of the Rear Mezzanine) and the view was great. If you can afford those seats, go for it! Updated On: 11/12/13 at 11:03 PM
The original run at the Broadhurst was essentially sold out before previews even began, so the producers began selling advance standing room, which I took advantage of. Great show, fabulous price, and you could sit in the downstairs lounge area to rest between acts. I would love to repeat that experience, but I don't think I have ever seen standing room at the Imperial--at least not from the time of THE BOY FROM OZ onward. Does anyone know if SR is permitted at the Imperial?
WiCkEDrOcKS, when did you snag those $68 seats? I'm turning up handfuls a few pair in the Rear Mezz for next Saturday, but they're all almost double that.
