It must be difficult for a lot of singers and dancers working in Broadway shows, considering how much money you make relative to the amount of talent you all have. How do you do it - make ends meet? I'm feeling for all of you.
If you find steady work, the pay is pretty decent, actually. However, since the length of any job is unpredictable, many actors pick up lots of other jobs: teaching, workshops, running tours. Most actors are also almost always looking for their next job.
They cannot rely on their current job to take them all the way to their next job, so they also want to make sure to pad their bank account.
Note: very few of the folks on this board are professional performers. Most are fans, some are in the business in different ways.
