Billy Porter seemed to have no interest in doing that number. I could barely understand him and he seemed to be marking the choreography.

"Jack Gay ?@jacksback2009 7m The veiw being a morning show.have KINKY BOOTs a play on with little kid's watching is in bad taste #abc #disney #theveiw"
What little kids watch The View? And aren't they in school?
I thought the performance on the The View was really good. It made me want to go back to see the show again. Billy Porter sounded great - give that man his Tony.
Having seen the show, this performance does not do this number justice. There was several odd cuts for time, and Billy sounds tired.
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel
Billy probably is exhausted today. After a performance last night, then getting up who knows how early for this, followed by a matinee and evening performance. Ah, the life of a drag queen - eh, I mean actor.
I agree, I love this show! But this performance doesn't do the scene justice! Porter sounds how he normally does to me, take it or leave it- I think there is obvious wear and tear on his voice having seen him in Grease, years ago. We all age I guess, I think the bigger issue is, he has stated publically many times, including in a recent broadway.com video, he doesn't warm-up prior to performances, which I think is odd.
