This is what I've been hearing and isn't all that surprising to hear. They have the set from New York Theatre Workshop already so there isn't a need to make a new set.
someone "hinted" at this a month or so ago. I would suspect we'll hear soon!
I'd see it again...happily.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

It may be a rumor, but I really hope this is true! I love Starcatcher, and I hope it will have a life after it closes on Broadway. New World may not be the most suitable look for the show, but I would love for it to transfer.
Does NWS have an empty theater? Or one that is becoming available soon? I can't imagine that Bare or Ave Q is leaving anytime too soon. (Although I don't expect Bare to last too terribly long.)

If this were true, I would assume PETER AND THE STARCATCHER would go into Stage 2, which is the theater where Jackie Hoffman's show just played over the holidays. That space seats 360, which is identical to where BARE is in Stage 4. The only bigger space is where AVENUE Q is in Stage 3, which seats 499.
I've heard things that lead me to believe this won't pan out to be true, but it would be nice for the show to live on.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
I think that space is actually still open. You're right- that would absolutely be the the most logical place for it. I completely forgot New World still hadn't put another show there post-RENT.
I also forgot that THE GAZILLION BUBBLE SHOW is actually in Stage 2. Jackie Hoffman must have played during their dark nights, given their schedule.

I guess the tour isn't panning out? From what one of the actors told me at the stage door a few months ago, most of the cast seems primed to go on the road with this one, and presumedly they would only keep the show running in NY if the cast was in place for that. I dunno....as long as people still get to see it, I am in favor for wherever it leads.
Frankly, I wonder if Off-Broadway isn't a better local for it anyway... I had several friends react to the show with "I loved it, but I don't feel like I got my 90 dollars' worth." It's not a sentiment I agree with but I see where it comes from.
