What does everyone think? I'm a little bummed that they didn't actually record the prologue. The first track is titled "Overture/Prologue," but the opening medley that they perform in the show isn't actually included.
It also looks like they cut about three minutes of dance music from "The Look-A-Like Contest," but the rest of it is great. Rob McClure and Christiane Noll sound wonderful.
Got an advance copy yesterday and though I did enjoy the show itself, I was bored with the cast recording. I stopped listening to it after track 5. I doubt I'll ever revisit it again. Seems I no longer can sit through cast recordings. The only ones I find myself revisiting are: the 2010 Broadway revival of PROMISES, PROMISES and the one for WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN.
The only song I liked from this show was Jen Colella's "All Falls Down" so that's the only song I bought, and plan to buy. She sounds really good on it though
So annoying that this seems to be on neither amazon.co.uk or iTunes here in the UK. Nor, Leap of Faith for that matter. Very annoying, and rather surprising as I'm sure they're missing out on custom!
jman16, neither "Chaplin" or "Leap of Faith" are available digitally in the UK (yet), but you can order the CDs via Amazon UK. However, at the moment both CDs are rather expensive. Hopefully they will come down in price soon!
