They haven't announced a theater or dates yet, so having no cast announcement is par for the course.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Sorry, totally forgot its doing an out of town run.

Great...I have tickets for this show in SF. I had bought season tickets and Diner was part of the package. I'm going to call and find out what the deal is.
Okay, so my previous message got messed up, but at least one cast member for Diner has signed on: James Snyder said he signed on to play Boogie in the Broadway production of Diner at a talkback session after a Carousel performance.
I remember when Crow came out on the Tonys and announced that her music would soon be on Broadway in the upcoming "Diner" and she held for applause and the silence she was met with was like what happened when Romney ended his nomination speech with a nod to caring about the sick and the poor. Totally nothing.
Well, the movie itself didn't have very likeable characters, and i'm not a fan of Sheryl Crow's pop music, but i'm willing to give the musical a chance in order to hear Snyder singing. Maybe it will surprise me.
Well apparently they're retooling the show because those of us who were supposed to get tickets for the out of town preview in SF got notice that we wouldn't be. Supposedly it "may" come out here in the spring after its off Broadway? Seems unlikely unless it goes on tour--guess we'll see.
jazzynat, they got a Broadway theater for the spring, so that's why it's no longer coming to San Francisco at all. Had they not been able to secure a theater, they were talking about doing the workshop this fall, going to San Francisco in the spring, and then bringing it in to New York next fall, but they're now skipping out of town altogether.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
There are new rumblings of DINER coming this year. There was just another workshop in Dec. with Diana Digarmo. So this could quite possibly still be happening.
I know Emma Hunton and Matt Doyle were attached for a while. Matt did just move on from BOM, but Emma is attached to Witness Uganda right now and will be joining the Wicked tour later in the spring.
Please keep in mind this year still has 11 months left. I'm sure a theater will be open at some point. And the Joseph tour is scheduled until July or August at this moment.
