So I just went to Telecharge, only to find out that they have a whole new site...anybody else see this? Interactive seating charts, and neat things like that...
I never thought it possible, but the new site is even worse than the old one. Pretty (and unnecessary) 3D graphics make it excruciatingly slow and you still can't choose your seats like you can on Ticketmaster and most every other ticketing site. It's the same single choice presentation but in slow motion. I went back to the old site. Same lousy choices to wade through but at least you can cycle through them faster. Telecharge's idea of the "best available" seat and mine are always two different things. Patience sometimes pays off.
Yeah, after playing around with it, I have to agree. I like it showing me where a seat is, just so I can get a better mental image, but I would rather be able to see all available seats and pick my own. And, as mentioned, it is very slow.
For goodness sakes! All they did was make a fancier pictured version of the old site. Just show me the available seats for my performance and let me pick the one I want! How hard is that? This is why I hate dealing with Telecharge and won't unless forced into a corner.
When the new site was announced, there was someone that worked for Telecharge that was posting here to get people's opinions about the new Telecharge.com. The regular complaint overall was that people were unhappy with the inability to be able to choose your own seat like all the other ticketing sites. However, they had said that is a feature that they are in the process of adding. However, because the site is new, it is going to take a little bit of time.

I can't believe the new Telecharge site is already 18 months old. I experienced frustration at the beginning but haven't had problems lately. I just purchased tickets and they now offer a feature to import the theater date to your Outlook calendar. And it works! Just thought I'd give some kudos to Telecharge for adding functionality that helps!
For at least some shows, you still are not offered the option to select your seats. Plus, I've found that certain seats are offered on the old site that are not offered on the newer one. What gives?
