Very much deserved. It was so much more powerful than so much else that is still running. So glad I was able to see it.

I pray the show will be able to get a full number at the awards.

And I'll be the one to ask - Does this mean chances of it coming back might actually happen??

Anyone else think they might try and reopen the show now that it received the second greatest amount of nominations? I mean, they did get nominated, didn't they?

Ah, reliving the memories

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Congratulations to the show, though I feel many of those nominations are very much so underserved.

love it, only issue of it reopening is that joshua henry is already set to join a.c.t's porgy and bess which i guess he could drop out of since its a regional production.

Unfortunately, Tony nominations don't sell tickets.

Re: the issue of Joshua Henry being in Porgy and Bess. The return of "The Scottsboro Boys" was planned as a limited engagement through early summer, so it would be possible to bring it back and for him to still be available for Porgy and Bess which doesn't go up until August, I believe.

C'mon, Weisslers, let's bring this back to the Booth!

It will probably come back, and it will probably flop a second time.

I thought the show was great and I'm happy it got a best musical nomination, but...best set design? For some chairs?

And I don't even remember who Forrest McClendon played.

Adam, why does Best Set Design have to go to over-designed shows where it's just flashy and doesn't necessarily contribute to the story telling. I thought the set design of Scottsboro was brilliant in its simplicity and I was hoping that the Tony committee would recognize that.

ETA: to Adam, Forrest McClendon played Tambo to Colman's Bones

If Scottsboro was still running, it would be a very interesting race between Mormon/Scottsboro. I can't see anything but Mormon winning now though.

It would be interesting if Scottsboro re-opened at the Booth theatre, gained massive hype and stole Mormon's thunder before the Tony Awards. This is such a 'pipe dream' though.

If they were going to re-open it, now is the time. If they don't it will be known that any chance of it re-opening was just a big bluff in anycase.
