After seeing Fences last night and Promises Promises tonight, I would just like to say... Bleah... In Fences I saw a beautifully written and responsible look at how a man's choice to cheat on his wife negatively affected not only his wife, but all of the other relationships in his life. Awesome. Nice work, Mr. Wilson (also, the entire cast and Mr, Leon...they totally got it). As a man who will probably be married sometime in the near future, it definitely has made me a better husband-prospect. But then I couldn't really sit through Promises Promises as I was so angry at the many men portrayed doing the same thing. But this time, we didn't really get to see the side of their wives and families and the pain these men were putting them through. And some times it was supposed to be funny. It almost made Promises Promises unwatchable for me. I may not have even thought about it that much if I hadn't come from Fences the night before. No one's fault, just funny how one show completely influenced my response to another. Interesting huh? However, Katie Finneran's performance was better than what people have said. Sheer comic brilliance. That's all. Updated On: 6/11/10 at 01:06 AM
