Guess I've been trying too hard to get a good seat for the The River on telecharge. Apparently, I've been blocked from their website. How long will I be blocked for? What a pain.
If they use the same guidelines as Ticketmaster, it will be 24 hours, and it is IP-based, so another browser/cookie clearing won't affect it. A lot of times a modem reset doesn't affect it, either. Not sure if Telecharge is the same, though...
I tried to buy a ticket for the play at the Claire Tow this morning ("The Who and The What")-and the website crashed. I had to call them to get that seat back. I haven't used the site (I usually go to the box office, but it's been selling and I can't get there as quickly as I'd like). The woman was really nice-she said they seem to have a lot of these problems.
If you attempt to buy tickets or look for seats too many times, they think you are a scalper buying up tickets to resell. Ticketmaster does the same thing.
I think using multiple browsers really trips it the most, since they see requests for multiple seats coming from multiple sessions on the same IP. I rarely had Ticketmaster ban me when I didn't have three browsers running, but sometimes if you keep getting offered the same seat you don't want, it was the only way to have it throw you a second option, etc.
They should offer a "Don't show me this seat again" link, but this only happens when concerts first go on sale. Usually for Broadway, you can pick off the seating chart, not let their computer pick for you.
