That was a great teaser trailer for this board. I'm not so sure the masses will connect Richard Burton's "Camelot" with the subject matter. Sadly. But it sure worked for me and there will be additional trailers issued for this film that will probably appeal to a wider audience. Can't wait to see it!!
The JFK Presidency was greatly associated with Camelot by Jackie herself and then the media, at the time. Actually it is smart marketing for the trailer. Youngsters may not get the reference. However, people of a certain age and those familiar with the JFK Presidency will definitely get the reference.
The cliche that you have to toss the names of "Liza" and "Cher" assuming that every gay man on the face of the planet idolizes them. I assure you that there are many gay men who do not.
Now go back to your couch, grab the remote, put your hand down your crotch and play with your nuts as you watch "the game" bro....
Went to see Girl on the Train last night - excellent but a terrible rude annoying audience - and the poster was out for this and it's so classy and simple and I cannot wait to see this!
That is one powerful trailer. It is one thing to read about a tragedy and imagine it playing out in your mind...but seeing it played out before you is another thing entirely. Those brief glimpses of the assassination: the blood splattered on Jackie's face, seeing her struggling to take off her blood stained pantyhose...it just shook me to the core.
I cannot even begin to imagine the depths of despair she went through and all the while putting on a brave face for the nation because she knew it was her duty to make sure that her husband would not be forgotten.
I cannot wait to see this.
I believe Natalie Portman has just secured if not her second Oscar win at least a nomination.
I'm hoping for a second Oscar win.
What a pleasure it is to see her grow up into such a compelling actress.
I can only imagine this is how it was back in the day seeing someone like Elizabeth Taylor go from child star to an acclaimed adult actress,
But Petralicious (who has worked so hard making everyone forget all the other screen names he used here in the past) said she "was a great Jackie Kennedy". So that MUST mean he's seen the film and is familiar with it, right? I mean... He would NEVER just post something just to post it, without having all the information to make said post make sense. Right??
I just saw it this morning. Walking out of the theater, I feel like I did after I saw Schindler's List. I'm literally exhausted from that 95 minute film.
An outstanding film that causes the viewer to feel the title character's pain. Portman is perfection in a performance that will be revered for years to come. She's winning another Oscar.
Oh, she's winning that Oscar. It's the definition of a "sure thing". Just when you think the film can't punch your gut anymore, it goes right in for another swing. And then it does it again. And again.
I came home and took a nap for a little while. I really wasn't kidding when I said it exhausted me. I can't get "Camelot" out of my head now. The use of that song and the Finale from the musical just give them an entirely new meaning to me now.
"For one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot".
