Wow three weeks to go...and still some great seats left if you want to see this fantastic singer in his first US concerts. It's going to be a concert to remember!

It should be a lot of fun. I have to go to San Diego for a business meeting the week of the 17th. SLC is on the way to San Diego from the East Coast -- at least in the right direction --, so I decided to leave a few days early and take a slight detour. I'll do some siteseeing in SLC and see a concert.

Thanks, Kec. I'm sure we will. re: re: re: re: re: Michael Ball and Salt Lake

Question to anyone: I read someplace that Michael "poses" doing his concerts for those with cameras--so it's ok to take one in? I would like to take some pictures, if possible.

He has in past concerts...I've not gotten a definite answer on that question myself...A lot are taking cameras for stage door shots before and after. I think as long as you don't use a flash they might ignore your camera.

"Question to anyone: I read someplace that Michael "poses" doing his concerts for those with cameras--so it's ok to take one in? I would like to take some pictures, if possible."

During his recent concert tour in the UK, he paused in between songs for what he called the "Photo Op." He told people to take the cameras out and be ready on the count of three. He then turned round, counted to three and then faced the audience again with a big smile on his face, and the flashes were going like crazy. He then asked that the cameras be put away till the end.

Whether or not cameras will be allowed will depend on the policy of the theatre in SLC. The thing is, flash cameras really are not a good idea inside the theatre even if the venue allows them. Flashes are dangerous to a performer on the stage -- just imagine you're up on a stage and there are literally hundreds of flashes going off in your face -- you'd be blinded! Flashes don't work well much beyond 25 feet of the subject anyway.

If you have a film camera that takes 35 mm film, your best bet is to get film with an ASA of 800 or 1600. For Michael's concerts I used 800 ASA film, no flash, and they came out fine. It also helped I was no further back than 7 rows from the stage.

Definitely have the camera if you're at the stage door. Michael is usually very obliging about posing for photos with the fans, unless he's running late or something.

Yes, he has been providing photo ops during concerts since way back - which is great because the fans can concentrate on wathing him perform instead of worrying about how to take good photos re: Michael Ball and Salt Lake
