Home Grown returns to Victoria with a very special HOME GROWN for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Sample the best that Australian musical theatre has to offer as Home Grown gives you a front row seat to the electric creative process and magnetic artistic collaborations of the country's top writers and professional stage performers in a fun, intimate setting. So grab a drink, catch up with old friends, make some new ones and visit the birthplace of new Australian musical theatre.

For this special edition of Home Grown the stellar line-up includes: JOSH LEVY (The Longest Distance, FAYGELAH) JESS NEWMAN (Einstein: Master of the Universe, All the Time) PETER J CASEY (Closes on Saturday Night, Playschool) BACKWARDS ANORAK (Winter is Coming, A Hip Hikers Guide to the Galaxy) and IMPROMPTUNES (The Completely Improvised Musical, Bachela-la-la) plus new music from the upcoming US project of Australia's own EDDIE PERFECT (Shane Warne: The Musical, Songs From the Middle, Misanthropology)

Musical Theatre star Amy Lehpamer (Dusty, Sound of Music, Rock of Ages) will join us as host, and we couldn't be more thrilled! And as always we'll be joined by a cast of stars from professional music theatre as well as some of Melbourne's brightest up and comers. Including: Chelsea Plumley, Madison Green, Evan Lever, Nelson Gardner, Michelle Brasier, Amberly Cull, Brenton Gardner and Roland Lewis.

Based on New York institutions, Joe's Pub and 54 Below, HOME GROWN is the only event of its kind where the best writers from the Australian music theatre industry are invited to showcase their works performed by the country's hottest talent. This is a night not to be missed, so get in fast to secure your tickets for April 23 2017, 8:30pm at the National Theatre Melbourne.
