Fiona Scarlett hates 'love'. Useless, nasty little emotion. Downright dangerous if you ask Romeo or Juliet. The world is in love with being in love but it's time for a reckoning and Small Acts of Love is your perfect weapon. Arm yourself with anti-love stories that will toughen your hide and leave you jaded and bitter before you can say 'gin martini'. The lovepocalypse is coming in this night of hilarious story-telling and song. Directed by the award-winning Sarah Vickery.

Small Acts of Love is a black comedy that rips down the 'happily ever after' backdrop and exposes love's shrivelled truth. Four lovelorn characters weave their stories of the irrational, often hilarious moments that snared them in love's trap and spat them out bleeding cabaret numbers. If you prefer the title Four Funerals And Look! Another Funeral!; if you would rather eat a notebook than watch The Notebook; or if you view Romeo and Juliet as the greatest news report of all time, Small Acts of Love is the bitter pill you've been looking for.

Fiona Scarlett is headed for a comfortable future as an unashamed spinster but indulges in these intimate Small Acts of Love as a remedy to her own "well-balanced" breakups that have proved disappointing fodder for her own development as a method actor. Small Acts of Love premiered at Chapel off Chapel in 2016 to great acclaim. "'Crazy cat lady' has traditionally spelled out 'social death' and thus we spend vast amounts of time swiping right in an effort to find our 'Prince/Princess Charming'. Small Acts of Love is a gentle reminder to give up because the greatest love stories ultimately end in fatal death."

Sarah Vickery is an award-winning director. She recently returned from Valdez Alaska directing A Very Modern Marriage for The Owl & Cat Theatre Co at 'The Last Frontier Theatre Conference'. Sarah, along with award-winning composer Maria Alfonsine and artist Mathias Olofsson developed performance art piece Babelism: Love & Memory at Metanoia Theatre for fringe 2015 to great acclaim. Sarah's play The Day the Galaxy Inevitably Exploded and Died was nominated for 'Best of Theatre Award' at Sydney Fringe Festival. She is currently studying at The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) at The University of Melbourne doing her Masters in Directing for Performance.

Scarlett is excited to announce the talented Angus Grey on piano. Angus studies jazz at the VCA and plays keys in a number of jazz and funk bands around Melbourne.
