Since its inception in 1994, Salvage Vanguard Theater (SVT) has produced cutting-edge theater in Austin, premiering plays by distinguished theater artists such as Lisa D'Amour, Ruth Margraff, Dan Dietz, Caridad Svich, Jason Grote, Abi Basch, C. Denby Swanson and Andrea Thome.

"SVT opens it arms to such a diverse and wonderful gang of artists, comedians, outcasts, writers, puppeteers, musicians and lunatics- its part of what makes Austin Theater wild and great." - Halena Kays, artistic director The Hypocrites

"Three shows - FUGITIVE PIECES, THRUSH and IPHIGENIA CRASH LAND FALLS ON THE NEON SHELL THAT WAS ONCE HER HEART (a rave fable) - that are central to my vision as a theatre-maker," says playwright Caridad Svich, "SVT took the leap with heart, nerve, and walking on the wire kind of soul."

"From its inception, Jason Neulander and crew decided to manifest an electrified example of what theatre could be for a generation of artists unwilling to sacrifice their futures to inherited limitations... Flash forward twenty years, and I find myself in the wonderful circumstance of making a huge new musical about change and regeneration with the theatre, which under the leadership of Jenny Larson and crew has, itself, changed and regenerated to envision itself as a hub of a new chapter in Austin, no less bold, even more electric." -Daniel Alexander Jones, performer and playwright

Salvage Vanguard Theater proudly announces its 20th anniversary season, featuring three world premiere MADE IN THE SVT productions, Bulgarian performance art, and a big birthday bash!

SVT is proud to present No Movement No Sound, an avant-garde performance piece created by Bulgarian theater artists The Mighty Mighty Pressure Cooker, as part of the 10th annual Fusebox Festival.

The company's performance work deals with providing form and content that can become a safe place for these encounters to happen. The Mighty Mighty Pressure Cooker has existed since 2011 and is an active member of the independent performing arts scene in Bulgaria.
