Jarrott Productions Announces Casting for THE HERD

THE HERD takes place on Andy's 21st birthday. A small party is planned but two unexpected guests arrive-mom's ex-husband and sister's new boyfriend. What could possibly go wrong?

The cast includes six veteran Austin actors: Jan Phillips (most recently seen in Different Stages' John Gabriel BORKMAN); Liz Beckham (2016 B. Iden Payne Best Supporting Actress nominee for Penfold Theatre's CLYBOURNE PARK); Janelle Buchanan (multiple Payne & Austin Critics Table nominee & winner most recently seen in Austin Shakespeare's PRESENT LAUGHTER); Michael Miller (one of the most prolific actors in town, currently appearing as Everett Dirksen in Zach Theatre's THE GREAT SOCIETY); Steve Williams (most recently seen in Trinity Street Players' LONE RIDERS, and winner of Broadway World Austin Best Scenic Design for the Palace Theatre's TARZAN); and David R. Jarrott (currently appearing as J. Edgar Hoover in Zach Theatre's THE GREAT SOCIETY and 2016 B. Iden Payne Best Actor nominee for FREUD'S LAST SESSION).

THE HERD is directed by Robert Tolaro, with Scene Design by Desiderio Roybal, Lighting Design by Chris Conard, Costume Design by Glenda Wolfe, Prop Design by Reed Neal, Sound Design by Craig Brock, and Graphic/Web Design and Original Music by Michael Jarrott.

Rory Kinnear's THE HERD will play April 6-30 at Trinity Street Theatre at 901 Trinity in downtown Austin.

Jarrott Productions is one of Austin's newest and most honored theatre companies. Its first production, FREUD'S LAST SESSION, was a critical success and garnered 5 Central Texas Excellence in Theatre Award nominations (Best Production; Best Director; Best Leading Actor in a Drama; Best Set Design; Best Costume Design) and 2 B. Iden Payne Awards nominations (Best Leading Actor in a Drama; Outstanding Set Design).

Its second production, Arthur Miller's THE PRICE, was also a critical success and to date has received 7 Broadway World Austin nominations (Best Production of a Drama; Best Director; Best Cast of a Drama; Best Leading Actor in a Drama; Best Leading Actress in a Drama; Best Supporting Actor in a Drama; and Best Set Design), and was nominated for and WON 3 Central Texas Excellence in Theatre Awards (Best Production of a Play, Best Leading Actor in a Play, and Best Scenic Design). THE PRICE is also on the short list for consideration in the 2016-2017 B. Iden Payne Awards.
