Hill Country Community Theatre to Host HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD Fundraising Event

The Hill Country Community Theatre will hold a fundraising event "Hooray for Hollywood!" on Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20.

The show will be performed by the Hill Country Community Theatre Players and will feature hit songs from the movies, including "Over the Rainbow", "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)", "(I've Had) The Time of My Life", "My Heart Will Go On", "Evergreen (Love Theme from A Star Is Born)", "Moon River", "Chim Chim Cher-ee", "The Morning After", "We May Never Love Like This Again", "Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)", "Hakuna Matata", "Under the Sea", You've Got a Friend in Me", a salute to the music of James Bond, and many more!

Kay Baker, the director of this show, will also be the Master of Ceremonies along with Seth Smith. There will also be special appearances by members of the Bluebonnet Chorale and the Hill Country Blenders. The numbers will be accompanied by the piano stylings of Dan McMurrough.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Hill Country Community Theatre. "We rely on events like this to raise the monies needed to serve the community and sustain our work," executive director Mike Rademaekers said. "HCCT has played a critical role in stimulating creativity in this community for 32 years. We hope to continue to have a crucial impact on learning, discovery and achievement in the arts for another 32."

This musical fundraiser, which includes complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres, will be held for two performances only. The doors open on Friday, May 19 at 6:30 PM and the show starts at 7:30 PM. On Saturday, May 20, the doors open at 1:15 PMand the show starts at 2:15 PM. Tickets are $50 each or two for $90.
