After weathering the global pandemic by producing shows on a temporary outdoor stage and live-streaming performances, returning to live theatre indoors is a testament to the vitality and strength of the Springer's staff, board, patrons, and donors.
After a year of producing shows on a temporary outdoor stage and live-streaming performances to keep audiences safe, the Springer Opera House will open its 150th anniversary season indoors with Shrek the Musical on September 24.
The Springer Opera House held a virtual season announcement on Monday, May 3, to unveil the upcoming shows for the 2021-22 season. The Springer has commissioned rising American playwright, Natalia Temesgen, to write two shows that illuminate the lives of black American heroes in the upcoming season.
