Atlanta's most outrageous theatre has received $100,000 grant right before opening new "Forever Home."

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta connects donors, nonprofits, and community leaders to strengthen the Atlanta region through philanthropy. The Community Foundation does this by providing quality services to donors and innovative leadership on community issues. The Common Good Funds provide unrestricted dollars to support the operating costs of some of Atlanta's finest community organizations... including us knuckleheads at Dad's Garage. After a rigorous application process, and in-person reviews (where we had to look all spiffy), Dad's Garage was selected for this prestigious award. While we are well-known (perhaps infamous) for our late-night improv hijinks, Dad's Garage is ready to show Atlanta that we can create theatre for the whole community. Our theatre is committed to creating affordable, accessible entertainment that appeals to mainstream audiences, especially if they don't consider themselves "arts consumers." Dad's Garage is super excited to be part of this amazing grant program because it will help us transition into our new home in the Old Fourth Ward.

Please visit the Foundation's website at www.cfgreateratlanta.org for more information.

It's true! Our building has been demolished and we're now doing most of our shows right up the street at 7 Stages Theatre in Little 5 Points. Haven't heard yet? Get more details here:

About Dad's Garage Theatre Company:

Founded in 1995, Dad's Garage Theatre Company has grown from a small volunteer led organization to a thriving mid-size theatre led by professional artistic and administrative staff that includes over 300 volunteers and performers. We now entertain more than 33,000 people each year in Atlanta, at public events across the state, and at improv festivals across the continent. In addition to outrageous original productions, Dad's Garage produces improv shows year-round, educates young improvisers in a high school outreach program, and facilitates classes and workshops for the general public.
