I am thrilled to announce that our third production at the American Airlines Theatre this season will be Violet by Jeanine Tesori andBrian Crawley, directed by Leigh Silverman, and starring Sutton Foster. Leigh and Sutton started work on Violet at City Center as anEncores! Off Center concert, and we will be reuniting the creative team for our production.

Sutton won a Tony Award for her performance in our production of Anything Goes, and I am very excited for her return to Roundabout. It is also great to welcome Jeanine, Brian, and Leigh to the Roundabout family. Jeanine has written the scores for Thoroughly Modern Millie, Caroline or Change and Shrek the Musical. Brian has written book and lyrics for The Little Princess and Evangeline. Leigh most recently directed The Call at Playwrights Horizons, as well as Chinglish on Broadway.

The creative team includes Jeffrey Page (Choreographer), Joseph Joubert and Buryl Red(Original Orchestrations) and Michael Rafter (Music Director). The design team includes David Zinn (Sets), Clint Ramos (Costumes), Mark Barton (Lights) and Leon Rothenberg (Sound).

I have loved Violet since I first saw it at Playwrights Horizons in 1997, and I couldn't be happier to present the first Broadway production of this wonderful show.
