As reported by BroadwayWorld, yesterday, May 3rd, was a big day for a lot of Broadway hopefuls as Lin-Manuel Miranda's revolutionary musical, HAMILTON, held open call auditions for future jobs on Broadway and in touring companies.

Signups began at 10am for singers who rap, with auditions beginning at 11am. Prospective King Georges and ensemble dancers were not being seen at the time.

"No prior theatre experience necessary," read the casting notice and, in the video, WPIX 11 reports that nearly 2,000 young performers lined up for their shot outside Chelsea Studios on West 26th Street.

Most of them haven't been able to see the sold-out Broadway smash, which has a book, music and lyrics by Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also plays the title role. The musical is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. Hamilton is inspired by Ron Chernow's biography "Alexander Hamilton."
