This March, the UMS Education & Community Engagement will host a residency with NYC-based choreographer and 2013 MacArthur Fellow Kyle Abraham, who will make his UMS debut in 14/15 (details to be announced on April 13 at ums.org).

Kyle Abraham and Abraham.In.Motion's work intertwines a sensual and provocative vocabulary with a strong emphasis on sound, human behavior, and all things visual. 2013 MacArthur Fellow and 2012 USA Ford Fellow, Kyle Abraham was selected as one of Dance Magazine's 25 To Watch for 2009.

As part of the UMS residency, Kyle Abraham will participate in two events that are free and open to the public:

Monday, March 24 @ 7 pm: UMS Night School: Bodies in Motion
UMS Night School is a free series of 90-minute "classes" that combine conversation, interactive exercises, and lectures with genre experts to draw you into the themes behind UMS performances. For this session, Kyle Abraham joins us to discuss the theme "Making Ballet Personal." No registration is necessary - this event is free and open to the public. More.

Tuesday, March 25 @ 7:30 pm: You Can Dance: Kyle Abraham
In this session for curious and novice movers, join choreographer Kyle Abraham for an exploration of his movement style. No dance training or experience necessary, and all levels, ages 13 and up, are welcome. Free, but first come, first served until studio reaches capacity. Sign up starts at 6:45. More.
