Type A Marketing (Anne Rippey, President) announced today that Michael Porto will take on the role of Executive Vice President of the company, working closely with Rippey on the marketing of Type A's slate of Broadway and National Touring productions.
Porto comes to Type A from ASU Gammage at Arizona State University, one of the top Broadway touring markets in North America, where he currently serves as Director of Marketing & Communications. ASU Gammage's mission of "Connecting Communities" informs the innovative promotional, interactive and grassroots marketing strategies that have yielded record sales and media exposure for their series of ten Broadway productions annually. Prior to that, he served as President of M.A.P. Marketing Group, which he founded in 1997, where his clients included the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, the Boulder Philharmonic, Boulder Creek Events, the US Olympic Committee, and the Vail Arts Festival. He has also served as Director of Marketing & Public Relations for the Colorado Shakespeare Festival and Colorado Ballet and the Executive Director of the David Taylor Dance Theatre. Michael is active in The Broadway League and serves as Co-Chair of the Road Marketing Committee.Videos
