George Street Playhouse is proud to announce that Karen Olivo, winner of the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Anita in the 2009 Broadway revival of West Side Story, will perform on the theatre's mainstage in a special event tonight, April 2, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.

The one-night-only performance provides a rare opportunity for fans to see Ms. Olivo perform live in concert. Her most recent appearance on the New York stage was last June in a five-show run of Jonathan Larson's tick, tick...BOOM! as part of New York Center's Encores! Off-Center series.

"I first met Karen when I was Associate Director for the most recent West Side Story revival, directed by my good friend Arthur Laurents," said David Saint, George Street Playhouse Artistic Director. "Her talent, both as an actor and singer, just knocked me out. I am so grateful that she will be making one of her few stage appearances here in New Brunswick for the benefit of George Street Playhouse."

Ms. Olivo created the role of Vanessa in the Tony Award-winning musical production of In the Heights both on and off-Broadway. She also appeared on Broadway in Rent and Brooklyn. Among her television credits, Ms. Olivo was a series regular on the NBC television series Harry's Law and had a recurring role on CBS' The Good Wife.

All seats are $35 and tickets are available through the GSP box office at 732-246-7717 or gsponline.org. George Street Playhouse is located at 9 Livingston Avenue, in the heart of New Brunswick's vibrant dining and entertainment district, accessible by car and public transit. Dining establishments for every palate and pocketbook abound in the area, and there is plentiful public parking.
