In Australia's most anticipated crossover release this year, The 7 Sopranos' sublime, sexy and sophisticated debut and self-titled album will be one to watch.

Seven beautiful soprano voices serenade fans with popular opera favourites like the Flower Duet from Lakmé, the Toreador Song (Carmen) and Song to the Moon (Rusalka), as well as You'll Never Walk Alone, Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Danny Boy.

With stunning voices, looks, glamour and above all a real passion for entertainment, The 7 Sopranos are proving to be a huge hit amongst music lovers of all genres.

The 7 Sopranos showcase female voices of genuine beauty and virtuosity. Aurally and aesthetically, they embody youthful energy and femininity. They are a heady fusion of operatic divas from another era and showgirls of today, with a pinch of nostalgic Hollywood glamour thrown in. Already Australia's most exciting operatic and cross-over voices, they thrill audiences with their 'soprano style' - putting a unique soprano stamp on some of the world's best-loved opera arias and music theatre hit tunes.

On this album we are thrilled to introduce the vocal talents of Naomi Johns, Clarissa Spata, Katie Stenzel, Maia Andrews, Kyla Allan, Michaela Leisk, Emily Edmonds and Deborah Rogers, under the inspiring leadership of Tarita Botsman.

"From the time we received the contract from ABC Classics to the time we recorded the album the process was wonderful - we had always dreamed about creating an album so the steps we had to take from choosing the repertoire, having it arranged, working with Glenn Amer, my old friend to recording it with the guidance of wisdom of producer Virginia Read was so much fun and very rewarding." says Tarita. "It is every one of the girls on the album, their talent, their commitment and discipline that really makes the album special. There is a real sense of sisterhood in the group and I think you can hear that when you listen to their beautiful voices on this album."

Inspired by Rome's magical mix of top-flight voices and magnificently opulent sets and designs, The 7 Sopranos offer a fresh take on the grand Italian opera tradition for the contemporary world: a truly intoxicating experience that stays faithful to its glorious origins but is designed for everyone, everywhere.
