Sengbloh and Mambo Set For CABARET GOURMET 2011 5/7

Off-Broadway's The Play Company will feature superb entertainment by Broadway performers and succulent foods prepared by some NYC's top chefs at its 8th annual gala CABARET GOURMENT 2011, set for Monday, May 2 at 7 p.m. at the American Airlines Theatre Penthouse (227 W. 42 St.) in Manhattan.

Kevin Mambo, who starred on Broadway in the musical FELA! will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the cabaret portion of the evening. He will be joined on stage by his FELA! co-star Saycon Sengbloh. Mr. Mambo and Ms. Sengbloh recently returned from performing in Lagos, Nigeria as part of the FELA! world tour.

CABARET GOURMENT 2011 offers theatergoers and gourmet-food aficionados alike the opportunity to mingle and taste epicurean dishes prepared by well-known chefs from around the city. Participating chefs in CABARET GOURMET 2011 include Chef David DeCarlo of ANGUS McINDOE, Chef Einat Admony of BALABOOSTA, Chef Albert Tanudjaja of EMBER ROOM, Chef Jehangir Mehta of GRAFITTI FOOD AND WINE BAR, Chef Nancy Olson of GRAMERCY TAVERN and Chef Josh Eden of SHORTY'S .32, along with Steve Leibowitz of GUSS' PICKLES, and Keavy Landreth of KUMQUAT CUPCAKERY. As well, CABARET GOURMET 2011 will feature delicacies by Valrhona Chocolate and La Colombe Torrefaction. All wine will be provided by Red Tail Ridge Winery.

The CABARET GOURMET 2011 evening also includes a silent auction and raffle offering tickets to Broadway's hottest shows, exclusive dining and spa packaging, elite opportunities and much more.

Kevin Mambo shared the title role in FELA! on Broadway, having previously appeared Off-Broadway in RUINED. A two-time Emmy winner for "The Guiding Light," his film and TV credits include "Cadillac Records," "One Life to Live," "Soul Food," "Spin City," "Family Matters," and many others. Other NY theatre credits include HOODOO LOVE, ONCE AROUND THE SUN, ROBERTO ZUCCO and THE LAST DETAIL. He can be heard on upcoming recordings from Blaz & the 88 Sound, Audio Deluxe, Black Astronauts and Mamborena.

Saycon Sengbloh has appeared on Broadway in FELA!, HAIR, THE COLOR PURPLE, WICKED and AIDA, and in the national tour of RENT. Her film credits include "Dawson's Creek," "Mama Flora's Family" and "Ditchdigger's Daughters." She has appeared numerous times at the ALLIANCE THEATRE in productions including JAR THE FLOOR, DINAH WAS and CHESS.
