Broadway star Betty Garrett died in Los Angeles at the age of 91. Here, filmmaker Rick McKay pays tribute to Garrett.

Rick writes "This is raw footage from the extensive interview that Betty Garrett did for the film "Broadway: The Golden Age" (2004) with filmmaker Rick McKay. Betty was a very valuable part of the film and was generously available for interviews, question and answer sessions at the movie theatre with Rick after showings, premieres, interviews, etc. during the run. While Betty was not well enough to film last year when we were doing Los Angeles shoots for the sequel, she is still a big part of the new film "Broadway: Beyond the Golden Age," and will, fittingly, have a new film opening later this year!

I treasure a poem that Betty wrote for me about the difference between stage and TV and film, inspired by her husband, the talented Larry Parks.

She inspired countless artists and civilians alike, and would that we could touch ten per cent of the lives she affected.

I wish I could share the whole interview with you, but in lieu of that, here is a great 15 minutes of Betty, Betty, Betty - and MORE Betty!

Watch for her "encore" in the new film in the art houses later this year. But, we all know she is not really gone. She is with us - making sure we don't miss our cues. So, be on top of your game ;-)

Much love to Betty's family that she loved so much.
