The brutal stabbing murder of actress E'dena Hines early Sunday morning has been making national headlines because the victim was the granddaughter of actor Morgan Freeman.

In a released statement, the grieving Freeman noted, "The world will never know her artistry and talent, and how much she had to offer."

In an effort to share a glimpse of the deceased's artistry and talent, BroadwayWorld offers a look at This Is My Body, Jason Stefaniak and Siobhan O'Loughlin's 2012 video advocating women's equality and reproductive rights. Hines' powerful performance begins at the two minute mark and continues at 4:06.

E'dena Hines' film appearances included roles in Moll Flanders, 5 Flights Up and the to-be-released Landing Up. Her stage appearances included playing Beneatha Younger in the Westport Country Playhouse's 2012 production of Lorraine Hansberry's landmark drama, A Raisin in the Sun, directed by Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad.
