In conjunction with the New York Musical Theatre Festival, NYMF alum Jeremy Schondfeld (Drift, Greta) will present a concert version of SPUN, A Brother/Sister Rock Musical, at 54 Below July 10th at 9:30pm. The award winning actor/composer/lyricist/recording artist behind the internationally celebrated concept album, Iron & Coal, will star alongside up-and-coming singer/songwriters Maximilian Sangerman and Brook Wood to present select music from the original musical play (book by Emily Goodson) ahead of its NY premier at the 2015 Adirondack Theatre Festival, July 23-Aug 1.

Previously developed at the Bloomington Playwrights Festival in 2013, under the direction of Chad Rabinovitz, SPUN tells the story of Molly and her estranged brother Jesse. Following their father's death, each try to find a way to reconnect within the ruins of their childhood. But memories have a funny way of changing over time; and with two very different recollections blame, doubt, and rock n' roll become weapons. From the team behind the hit, Greta (formerly Kissing Frogs), Jeremy Schonfeld (music & lyrics) & Emily Goodson (book) return to create this high-octane musical that explores the complexities of family and story-telling, weaving together the memories and unique perspectives of siblings with comedy, wit, and rock.

Executive producers Louis Hobson & Indie Theatrical are quoted as saying, "Indie Theatrical is proud to be partnering with ATF and incoming artistic director, Chad Rabinovitz, to present this exciting new American musical. Our mission is to bring new work and new creative voices to the forefront and we can't imagine a better group of artists or a better partner than ATF to breath life to Jeremy Schonfeld & Emily Goodman's SPUN."

Since its founding in 1994, ATF has launched 19 world premieres, many of which have gone on to receive productions in NYC, across the country and internationally. These include Murder for Two, It Goes Without Saying, Mimi Le Duck, Barbara's Blue Kitchen, and Fully Committed. The new play development process succeeds at ATF by engaging the audience as active participants in the process through readings, post-show discussions, open rehearsals, and "meet the writer" events. ATF has also brought many Off-Broadway, Broadway, and regional theatre hits to its stage for its local audiences. These include Next to Normal, Avenue Q, Ring of Fire, The Whale, Black Tie, Altar Boyz, and Stones in His Pockets. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) ensures the future vitality of musical theatre by nurturing the creation, production, and public presentation of stylistically, thematically, and culturally diverse new musicals. The largest annual musical theatre event in America, the Festival presents productions each summer in the heart of New York City's Theatre District, along with an array of readings, concerts, and other special events.
