Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) is proud to announce a major expansion of ACCESS Roundabout, a multi-faceted audience development initiative that allocates over 34,000 affordable tickets, as low as $10, to theatergoers. Beginning with the 2009-2010 season, ACCESS Roundabout will increase the number of affordable tickets available by 12,000!

As one of the nation's leading not-for profit theatre companies, internationally recognized for quality award-winning theatre, education and audience development programs, Roundabout is excited to offer these special low-priced ticket alternatives to the community.

Todd Haimes (Artistic Director) says: "As a not-for-profit, we are devoted to developing audiences and making quality theatre accessible to the community. ACCESS Roundabout program is a great example of our commitment. Since the launch of this program, we have provided thousands of affordable seats, many as low as $10, and this year I'm proud that we are expanding the offer to thousands more."

ACCESS ROUNDABOUT includes the following four major programs:

$10 PREVIEWS:

Roundabout will now allocate 100 mezzanine tickets to be sold for $10, for the first FOUR preview performances at each of its Broadway venues (American Airlines Theatre and Studio 54). The expansion will also include 100 additional $10 tickets available for the first four preview performances at the Laura Pels Theatre. For this program, Roundabout has allocated 2,000 tickets for the season at a full value price of $153,000. Additionally, every seat for the first performance of Bye Bye Birdie at the Henry Miller's Theatre was sold to the public for $10. The $10 preview tickets are available in advance by calling (212)719-1300, online at www.roundabouttheatre.org (use code ACCESS10) or at the respective box office.

ROUNDABOUT UNDERGROUND:

All tickets for all productions and performances at Roundabout Underground (5,456 total seats) are $20. This popular program will continue in the Black Box Theatre with the upcoming production of Adam Gwon's new musical Ordinary Days beginning October 2nd, 2009. Tickets are available in advance by calling (212)719-1300, online at www.roundaboutunderground.com or at the box office.

HIPTIX "New and Improved":

This popular program for young professionals and students continues to grow with cheaper tickets and even more access. Roundabout has allocated 24,600 tickets to be sold for only $20 each for HIPTIX members. This is an increase of 5,000 tickets and includes more seats for all Roundabout shows, at every venue. HIPTIX membership (for ages 18-35) is FREE and available at www.hiptix.com. The tickets are available in advance by calling (212)719-1300 and at the box offices. Proof of age is required.

RUSH POLICIES:

Roundabout is pleased to offer general rush tickets in the mezzanine, available on the day of a performance at an average price of $21.50-$26.50. Student rush tickets are available one half hour before curtain time at half price, available with a valid student I.D.

Roundabout Theatre Company has a long history of launching innovative programs to meet the needs of Roundabout subscribers as well as attract new audiences. Since 1992, their Theatre-PLUS programs (including the highly popular Early Curtain Series, Gay and Lesbian Series, Social Series, Wine Series and Celebrity Series) have been attended by thousands. Launched in 2000, their HIPTIX program has served to make Broadway and Off-Broadway productions affordable for young professionals and students, and now boasts over 10,000 members.

Roundabout Theatre Company's 2009-2010 season includes Patrick Marber's After Miss Julie, starring Sienna Miller & Jonny Lee Miller, directed by Mark Brokaw; Michael Stewart, Lee Adams and Charles Strouse's Bye Bye Birdie, starring John Stamos, Gina Gershon, Bill Irwin & Nolan Gerard Funk, directed and choreographed by Robert Longbottom; Carrie Fisher's Wishful Drinking, directed by Tony Taccone; Theresa Rebeck's The Understudy, with Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Justin Kirk & Julie White, directed by Scott Ellis; Adam Gwon's Ordinary Days, directed by Marc Bruni; Noël Coward's Present Laughter starring Victor Garber, directed by Nicholas Martin and Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, directed by Gordon Edelstein. Roundabout's sold out production of The 39 Steps made its second Broadway transfer to the Helen Hayes Theatre on January 21, 2009.
