Rosie's Theater Kids is delighted to announce that it has received the largest individual gift in the institution's history - $2 million.

Per the donor's wishes, the funds are meant to be unrestricted and will aid the organization's continued efforts to provide much needed arts education and academic support to underserved children in New York City.

The donor has graciously decided to remain anonymous, preferring that the focus of their gift be on Rosie's Theater Kids. Upon receiving the news of this incredibly generous gift, RTKids founder, Rosie O'Donnell explained "this gift means the world to me and these kids. I know what it's like to be saved by a school. By a Sondheim song. By a cast of people who understand that being different is your biggest strength in life."

Lori Klinger, Artistic and Executive Director of Rosie's Theater Kids, shared her deep appreciation and commented "we are incredibly grateful by this most generous gift to Rosie's Theater Kids that further empowers us to inspire and transform the lives of so many deserving students. RTKids is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and we could not have imagined a better way to kick--off what will be a very special year. Our teaching artists and staff are passionate about our mission and committed to providing our students with life lessons that will ensure they succeed, in whatever field they choose to pursue."

Stay tuned for details about the organization's upcoming benefit - Passing It On - to be held on April 23, 2013.
