Jack W. Batman, Executive Producer of the White Plains Performing Arts Center, announced that Robert Cuccioli will be returning to the theatre to play King Arthur in this season's opening production, Camelot. This is a brand new production of the Tony Award-winning musical that will play a limited engagement from September 26 – October 5, 2008.

Robert Cuccioli earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical for his work on Broadway in Jekyll & Hyde. He won the Drama Desk and the Outer Critics Circle awards for that performance as well. Cuccioli also appeared in the Broadway production of Les Misérables and has been seen on screen in "Sliders," "Baywatch," "Celebrity," "The Stranger" and "Operation Delta Force 3: Clear Target." His recent theatrical credits include the acclaimed Off-Broadway revival of Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, Amadeus at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Guys and Dolls, Temporary Help, Lorenzaccio, The Sound of Music and the Actors' Fund benefit concert of On the Twentieth Century.

The 2008-2009 Season opens with this brand-new jewel-box version of Lerner and Loewe's timeless masterpiece, Camelot. From the director and artistic team of last season's thrilling, sold-out production of Ragtime, this will be an exciting new look at the classic Broadway musical about King Arthur's enchanted kingdom. The show, which originally opened in 1960, caught the imagination of the country and its youthful president, John F. Kennedy, and this musical play became forever entwined with the American values of social equality and justice. Camelot seems more relevant than ever this election year as we weary of war, yearn for a return to a more-perfect time and re-discover the grandeur of one of history's greatest love stories.

Camelot will be directed by Sidney J. Burgoyne. Music Director: James Bassi; Set design: Michael Hotopp; Costume Design: T. Michael Hall; Lighting: Thom Weaver; Production Stage Manager: B.J. Forman. Full casting will be announced shortly. WPPAC calls this show a Spotlight Musical because it is a concentrated and simplified look at the essence of the musical, plays a limited number of performances, and is not part of the theatre's subscription series.

Tickets are $50.00/$42.50.  Season subscriptions for the Broadway Classics series and gift certificates are also available. This season's Broadway Classics are Oliver! directed by Luke Yankee (November 20 – December 14, 2008), A Little Night Music directed by Sidney J. Burgoyne (March 5 -22, 2009) and Hello Dolly! directed by Jack W. Batman (April 30 – May 17, 2009). White Plains Performing Arts Center is located on the third level of City Center at the corner of Main and Mamaroneck in downtown White Plains, just 30 minutes from midtown Manhattan, and there is plenty of convenient parking. For tickets please call 914.328.1600 or buy them online at www.wppac.com.
