This special weekend celebrates the role music plays in treating gynecological cancer including cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar and to help bring awareness to these silent killers.
Tickets are on sale now and prices start at $20 and can be purchased through each venue's website; www.catscradle.com and www.lincolntheatre.com respectively. "Rhythm Heals is a celebration of survival and spirit and the relationship music has to healing," said Dr. John Boggess, surgeon and member of N.E.D. "Gynecologic Cancer is a "silent killer" and N.E.D. intends to give voice and awareness to Gyn Cancers in order to save lives through understanding. N.E.D. is made up of six Gynecologic Cancer Surgeons who are also musicians, who record and perform original music to raise awareness and funding for Gynecologic Cancers. The band released our first commercial self-titled release with Motema Records last September and received 3.5 stars from All Music Guide. Blending classic rock with folk and other popular music styles, N.E.D. hopes to entertain and inspire with melody and insightful lyrics. Rhythm Heals will be a weekend long celebration which includes a Patron's Fundraising dinner followed by concerts at the Cat's Cradle and Lincoln Theater. Proceeds from the event will go to support the band's mission and to establish a Gynecologic Cancer Support Group for patients of Rex and UNC Hospitals."TWO PERFORMANCES
