Another award-winning children's book comes to life at Raleigh Little Theatre with Patricia McKissack's Mirandy and Brother Wind. This production is the area premiere of a musical adapted by Michael Bobbitt and John Cornelius. It tells the story of a little girl who attempts to win a Cake Walk by capturing Brother Wind.

After the performance on Saturday, November 1 at 1pm, there will be a talkback with Michael Bobbitt, who is also the Artistic Director of Adventure Theatre in Glen Echo, MD and the director of the play's first production. His national and international credits include the NY Musical Theatre Festival, Mel Tillis 2001, La Jolla Playhouse, Jefferson Performing Arts Center, and 1996 Olympics. He is a member of the Dramatist Guild of America and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.

In December, RLT's annual holiday production of Cinderella returns for the 32nd year. Directed by Rod and Nancy Rich, the show will open on December 5th and run through December 20th. On Thursday, December 11th, ticket proceeds will benefit WRAL's Coats for the Children, which helps the Salvation Army to provide warm winter coats.

Tickets for all performances can be purchased by calling the box office (919)-821-3111, Monday through Friday, noon to 5:00 p.m., or by visiting the theatre's website at www.raleighlittletheatre.org. Mirandy and Brother Wind runs from October 31 through November 16, 2014. Evening shows (Thursday and Friday) are at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday matinees are at 1:00 and 5:00 p.m.
