Party Come Here, presented as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival, opened on September 25th at the TBG Theatre (312 W. 36th Street), where it runs through September 30th.

"A nervous groom, a statue of Jesus Christ, and a 500-year-old Jewish caveman will converge one night in Rio during a tropical storm when Party Come Here, a new musical comedy about sex and spirituality," according to press notes.

Party Come Here stars Kerry Butler (Hairspray), Fyush Finkel ("Picket Fences"), Hunter Foster (The Producers), Kaitlin Hopkins (The Great American Trailer Park Musical), Terrence Mann (Lennon), and Karen Olivo (Brooklyn), and also features Randy Aaron, Cathryn Basile, Justin Keyes and Katie Klaus.  The music and lyrics are by David Kirshenbaum (Summer of '42) and the book is by Daniel Goldfarb (Martin Short's Fame Becomes Me, Modern Orthodox).  Will Frears (Omnium Gatherum) directs, with musical direction by Vadim Feichtner (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and choreography by Tracy Bersley.

"Part farce, part fable, Party Come Here offers a hilarious collision of cultures as tantalizing as the sexiest city in the world. Mistaken identity, spirituality, hopes, family, sex—all set to irresistible Latin rhythms.  From the author of Fame Becomes Me and the composer of Summer of '42, this is an outrageous, original, outlandish, oddball, optimistic, ohmigod, one-of-a-kind show."
