New York Live Arts continues the 2015 Studio Series showings with Marjani Forté-Saunders today, May 15 and Saturday, May 16 at 6:00pm in the Third Floor Studios.

For her Studio Series showing, Forté-Saunders will present What else (working title), her newest solo, evening-length work. Currently in the early stages of development and creative process, the work takes inspiration from Forté-Saunders' father, an animated being of great contradiction, whim and majesty. What else meditates on bottomless and intangible love, sprouting from that of father and daughter into the many facets of relationship and union. Forté-Saunders' exploration is driven by the politics of her father's being and likeness, toiling with its weight, and lamenting it's tragic timeliness.

Studio Series is supported, in part, by the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and the Foundation for Contemporary Arts.

Studio Series work-in-process showings will take place in New York Live Arts' studios. Tickets are $5. There will be free in-process talks after each showing. Tickets are available online at newyorklivearts.org/tickets, by phone at 212-924-0077 and in person at the box office. Box office hours are Monday to Friday from 1 to 9pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 9pm. New York Live Arts is located at 219 West 19th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues. There will be no late seating.
