According to The New York Times, Vassar's Powerhouse Theater will showcase an impressive lineup for its 2013 season, running June 21 to July 28. A new musical by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, and two others by writers Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman, and Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, will take the stage for Vassar College and New York Stage and Film.

Works-in-progress, including Seth Zvi Rosenfeld's Downtown Race Riot, about young troublemakers in Washington Square Park, and Mozhan Marno's When the Lights Went Out, about a group of people during New York's Northeast blackout of 2003, will receive staged productions.

The lineup will also present concert readings of the new musical Bright Star, featuring music and lyrics by Brickell and Martin, with book by Martin and Walter Bobbie (Chicago, Venus in Fur), as well as an untitled superhero musical by Chabon and Waldman, with Peter Lerman and Simon Rich, staged by Tony winning director Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening).

Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights)'s The Hamilton Mixtape, a bio-musical about Alexander Hamilton, will also receive a reading, directed by Thomas Kail.
