NBC Sports Group will air coverage of USA Swimming's Phillips 66 National Championships Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. ET on NBC and continuing at 11 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network. The five-day swim meet serves as the qualifying trials for the 2013 FINA World Swimming Championships in Barcelona, Spain, which will be televised in August on NBC and Universal Sports Network.
ANNOUNCERS: Ted Robinson, Rowdy Gaines and Alex Flanagan will call the action from Indianapolis, Ind. The U.S. National Swim Team won more than three times the number of medals than any other nation at the 2012 London Olympic Games, making the race to qualify for the World Championships ultra-competitive for the talented mix of veterans and newcomers competing this weekend. Top contenders to watch on NBC at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday include: 18-year old, four-time Olympic gold medalist Missy Franklin; 16-year old, Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky, the youngest member of Team USA at the London Olympic Games; four-time Olympic gold medalist Matt Grevers; 11-time Olympic medalist and five-time gold medalist Ryan Lochte; and two-time Olympic medalist Elizabeth Beisel.
