Tony-nominee Matthew Morrison (THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, 'Glee') will be among a starry group of Master Teachers at Musical Theatre University's National Youth Summer Stock in Southern California. Morrison will join Stephanie J. Block (9 TO 5, THE PIRATE QUEEN, WICKED), Eric Kunze (MISS SAIGON, LES MISERABLES), Lindsay Mendez (GREASE, EVERYDAY RAPTURE) and composer Jason Robert Brown (THE LAST FIVE YEARS, 13) to offer special classes and seminars for the sixty participants, selected by audition from all parts of The United States and Canada, during the six week Summer Stock program which begins on July 12.

Musical Theatre University offers the only professionally produced Summer Stock program in the country for young performers, ages 14-24. In addition to their classes the participants will produce five fully staged productions in five weeks. This season the productions include 'Defying Gravity: The Music of Stephen Schwartz,' CHILDREN OF EDEN, INTO THE WOODS, and the regional, non-professional premiere of THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, as well as an ASCAP Songwriter's Showcase. Performances will be held in August at The Artists Theatre in Laguna Beach, California.

Musical Theatre University was founded by David Green whose alumni include Morrison, Block, Mendez, Anneliese vanderPol (BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, VANITIES), Krysta Rodriguez (THE ADDAMS FAMILY, A CHORUS LINE), Tony-nominee Susan Egan (BEAUTY AND THE BEAST), and more. Musical Theatre U is in partnership with Southern California's No Square Theatre.

There are a few opening left for interested young performers. Visit MTU's website at www.musicaltheatreuniversity.com for further information about participation or performances.
