Another Gyllenhaal takes to the stage!

Molly Gyllenhaal will appear in Christopher Sirota's comedy, STALLED, and Mohammed Saad Ali's drama, CANAAN, Genesis Repertory's entries in John Chatterton's Midwinter Festival of New Works.

Molly -- whose famed family includes actors, Jake & Maggie Gyllenhaal, and director Stephen Gyllenhaal -- began her career as a recipient of the Shining Star Scholarship, part of the 52nd Annual Drama Desk Awards, sharing the stage with Jack O'Brien, Raul Esparza, John Kander, Venessa Redgrave, and Frank Langella.

Molly spent many years in classical theater (Hamlet, Midsummer Night's Dream, Romeo & Juliet, The Tempest and others) before turning her attention to new works in New York. Now pulling double duty, she returns to Ali's family drama, CANAAN appearing as a Jewish woman married to a Muslim man (appearing in its premiere last year); and also creates the role of the snarky Melissa in the comedy, STALLED.

Molly is thrilled to be part of John Chatterton's fifth annual Midwinter Madness Festival and is looking forward to other Genesis productions as well -- on stage and on screen as she is in negotiations now to be part of MEDITATIONS, a televised series produced by Genesis' film production unit.
